Rate of Play

1 hour 30 mins to make 36 moves, then 15 mins quickplay finish.

Friday 17th July:

Round 1        7pm - 10:30pm

Saturday 18th July

Round 2        10:00am - 1:30pm

Round 3        2:15pm - 5:45pm

Sunday 19th July

Round 4        10:00am - 1:30pm

Round 5        2:15pm - 5:45pm

Prize giving        6pm or earlier

Prizes in each section:

 1st prize - £200

2nd prize - £100

3rd prize - £60

& at least 1 grading prize of £30.

Veteran’s prizes

£30 for the highest score in congress by an over-70.

£30 for the highest score in Congress by player aged 65+ and under 70.


Grading: The January 2016 ECF grading list will be used to confirm players’ grades.

Publication on the Congress: Names of entrants, results, prizewinners list and photographs taken at the event will be published on the Congress website.

Late arrivals: Players will be defaulted after 30 minutes. Re-pairing will take place if possible.

General: The Organisers reserve the right to refuse an entry or to cancel or merge sections through lack of numbers.

More grading prizes will be added if numbers permit.

Any grading prize awarded will be to the player with the lowest grade within the qualifying score group.

The Organisers’ decisions are final.
